About.
Hi, I’m Thomas Strindberg.
I grew up in Stockholm, Sweden and have spent most of my career mixing journalism with the wild world of the internet. In the mid-90s I launched Internetworld at IDG, helped build Expressen’s first news site, and later created TV4’s big entertainment platforms Blip.se and Blipville.
Since 2011 I’ve been at SVT, where I’ve helped kick off projects like SVT Flow, SVT Edit, and even the broadcaster’s first VR experiments. These days I’m part of the team behind Melodifestivalen, Sweden’s biggest music show, where I work as an executive producer and was involved in creating the official voting app. Yayyh!
I love combining storytelling with new tech—and finding fun ways for people to join in.
Outside of work, I have a zeal for great typography, a passion for pixel art, and a fondness for Nintendo games—though I completely lack the patience for boss fights. I’ve also written a book about the history of Vässarö, created a logo for the local basketball team, and built my own summer house.
I’m happiest when I’m relaxing with my family on Gräsö in northern Roslagen, digging through old archives for historical research, or out in the wild with the scouts. On the other hand, nothing gets me quite as mad as tech that doesn’t work the way it’s supposed to.
I built my first personal website back in 1992, and ever since I’ve tried—more times than I can count—to keep a blog alive. Somehow it never sticks; I never quite find enough to say. I’m pretty sure this attempt will fail too, but hey… it’s worth a shot.
